PRINCIPLES OF PERSONALITY PROFILING AND A FREE TEST

Introduction: Personality profiling is used by many companies as part of their Recruitment process. Personality profiling is a technique used to create a structured description of an individual's personality. This is achieved in practice through the use of a personality questionnaire. The results of this questionnaire are then interpreted to provide useful information about a person's style of behavior and the ways they are likely to react in different situations. There are a number of different ways of achieving this result.

Reflex use Persona which is based on a method called 'DISC', which measures the relative levels of Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance in a personality. Once the four basic measurements have been made, these can be interpreted in a variety of ways to explain a person's actions and help to predict the ways in which they will behave in the future. It is important to realise that personality profiling, at least of the kind used by Persona, is not actually a 'test' in the traditional sense of the word - it is not designed to 'pass' or 'fail' personalities. Every personal style has its own associated strengths and weaknesses, and none is 'better' or 'worse' than any other. Different styles are, however, suited to different roles, and an important part of any personality profiling technique is to help in defining which styles are most appropriate to which roles.
